Rosaleen at Keele, 1967
Rosaleen grew up surrounded by music. As a young woman during the 1960s folk revival in England, she organized concerts on Keele University campus as President of the Keele Folk Club. This was the beginning of a lifelong process of learning songs from LPs, songbooks, and other singers. The dramatic narratives and powerful, stark poetry of the Child ballads have always been close to her heart. After raising three daughters and pursuing a career in law, Rosaleen is now fulfilling her dream of recording a selection of Child ballads on CD. She is a regular performer at the Princeton Traditional Music Festival (Princeton, BC, Canada) and the Water Valley Celtic Festival (Water Valley, Alberta, Canada).
